Victorian Ash and Tasmanian Oak, Jarrah, Merbau, Meranti, Pine, Meranti, Bangkerai, and Engineered Hardwood, such as:

  • Merbau – (INTSIA BIJUGA INTSIA PALEMBANICA): A dressed hardwood from the Asia region, it is an extremely strong and stable structural hardwood which is widely used as an appearance grade timber. Merbau is a naturally oily wood with a high tannin content. It has a rich, dark brown colour with flecks of yellow often noticeable.
  • Jarrah – (EUCALYPTUS MARINATA): Jarrah is renowned worldwide for its density, resistance qualities and beautiful rich red colour which deepens over time enhancing the timbers natural characteristics.
  • Tassie Oak – (EUCALYPTUS GIGANTEA): A dressed, light coloured hardwood from Victorian and Tasmanian managed forests. Used for internal appearance grade applications and readily accepts stains and coatings.
  • Meranti – (SHOREA SPP): Light coloured timber suited for internal applications, ideal for painting.
  • Radiata Pine – (PINUS RADIATA/PINUS INSIGNIS): A commonly available easy to work Australian plantation timber; used widely for furniture and general construction.
  • Treated Pine: Treated pine is radiata pine, pressure treated to resist decay, termites and fungi. The timber is saturated during treatment so it is essential to let it dry properly before staining. It is widely used for decks, pergolas and fences.
  • Bangkerai – (SHOREA LEAVIS RIDL): Due to its high strength and durability – Bangkirai is used for heavy construction, traditionally located in Indonesia.
  • Spotted Gum – (CORYMBIA MACULATA): Used in heavy construction, piles, poles, ship building. It is the main Australian species for handles subject to high-impact forces (i.e. axe handles).
  • Kempas – (KOOMPASSI MALACCENSIS, KOOMPASSIA EXCELSA or KOOMPASSIA GRANDIFLORA): Kempas is a commonly grown hardwood that has attractive colouring from red to pale brown, sometimes with a light tinge of pink. Its grain is usually straight and its texture is medium to even.
